is a self-taught contemporary surrealist artist based in Istanbul, Turkiye, who uniquely navigates the intersection of scientific inquiry and visual art. Currently a third-year Molecular Biology and Genetics student at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, Imir bridges the rigorous, analytical curiosity of a scientist with the raw, emotional expression of a painter.
Her core artistic practice revolves around chaotic and surrealist oil portraits, exploring the unseen layers of human psychology and the subconscious. However, her versatility and responsiveness to environment shine through in her themed collections. In July 2025, she debuted her highly successful first solo exhibition, "Notice the Invisible," in Bodrum. Adapting her vision to the coastal setting, she showcased a distinct shift in medium, featuring intricate mini-figures set against richly textured canvases—a series that resonated deeply with art enthusiasts and led to numerous private acquisitions.
Alongside her independent studio work and custom commissions, Imir has shared her technical expertise as an instructor at a private art course, helping aspiring artists discover their own creative voices. She is continuously striving to grow and evolve both as an artist and a scientist, seeking new opportunities for creative expression and scientific exploration.
